SCC FAQ’s

Which minimum hardware requirements must be fullfilled by my PC/Laptop ?
The only requirement is a suitable Internet-Adapter such as Ethernet (IEEE 802.3), Wireless LAN (IEEE-802.11) or Mobile LAN (GSM). Since EVA-EMS works in a cloud-computing environment (processing is performed on the webserver) even PC’s/Laptops with very limited speed and memory can be used.

Which operating system and software must be installed on my PC/Laptop ?
Any operating system is suitable as long as you can run an Internet-Browser on your PC/Laptop. If you want to connect a Bluetooth-Scanner, you may need to install a suitable driver. Since EVA-SCC is a Client/Server-System there is no need to install any particular software. You don’t even need to care about updates!

Which browser should I use ?
EVA-SCC has been tested with the most common browsers on the market. Nevertheless each browser has it‘s peculiarities in behavior which could lead to a slightly different appearance. We recommend the use of Mozilla Firefox, since this browser has been developed by a manufacturer independent organization strictly following the rules of HTML and PHP scripts.

Can I upload my existing database or do I have to start from scratch ?
Yes, there are import functions which allow the import of CSV- and TXT-Files. The format is very simple and can be generated by most public applications like Word, Pages, Excel, Keynotes, etc.

What happens, if I do not have internet access ?
EVA-SCC is designed to work online via the world wide web only. If you do not have even a mobile connection (which would be sufficient), we apologize that you will not be able to use EVA-SCC.

Can I create my own user-network ?
Yes, you can setup as many sub-users as you need – either in your own company or among your servicecenters and dealers. Depending on the privileges your are granting to them, they will be able to access your database (e.g. pricelists, stock-information) and use it for their own database. This way they do not need to do things twice.
